The Firm Wave Review - Home Fitness Equipment
There’s a innovative piece of kit in the world of home workout equipment. It’s called the wave - a outstanding compact piece of kit at a fantastic price!
Different to other pieces of home workout equipment, the wave doesn’t just do cardio workout for calorie burn or toning workout for muscle sculpting - it does both add to that the fact that core stretching and Pilates exercises can also be executed upon it, and you’ll see what got me so thrilled!
Like all good inventions, the wave seems very easy. It has a curved design which allows it to be used either side up curved side up it is stable curved side down it is correspondingly unstable. Standing on the curved side makes it safe for step type exercises and static strength exercises. Standing on it curved side down makes it correspondingly wobbly and therefore forces all core muscles to be used just to be able to stand upright on it. This has the added advantage of improving balance and strengthening abdominals.
Here are a few ideas for exercising on the wave: -
Ride the wave for a tremendous cardio work out that will burn fat and strengthen your heart and lungs. If you hold small hand weights while rocking you will increase your calorie burn. Put on some upbeat music and off you go — rock to the beat! Just 20 to 30 minutes of this three times a week will show great weight loss results in as little as a calendar month!
Just standing on the curved side of the WAVE makes you engage your core muscles. Doing exercises such as squats in this position tones and shapes your butt and legs as well as strengthening your abs and upper body. You are using calories just standing there! This is because you have to balance - and balancing works muscles and working muscles burns calories and fat.
Turn the WAVE over and now you have a Step. You can do all the things that you can do in a Step class, but without the bulky Step! Step Up, kick, lift your knees, jump from side to side - the list is never-ending and the choice is yours. Again, a great aerobic, calorie-munching work out! With an affordable workout band, you can add a muscle toning workout as well. And as we all know, lean muscle not only looks good but it burns calories 24/7 — even when you are watching TV or asleep.
These are only the uses for the WAVE when you are standing up! Many, many more exercises can be performed lying on the curved side on your back, on your front, or on your side. Pilates exercises executed this this way are twice as good as those performed lying on the floor. Strengthen that core and flatten those abs! Get that long, lean silhouette that comes from practising Pilates regularly, then use your WAVE for stretching out to lengthen and relax your muscles.
I think the Firm Wave is the most exciting piece of home workout equipment that I’ve seen for a long time. Why not check it out yourself? You’ll soon be riding The Firm Wave.

Treadmill Excercise Machine: Some of the Advatages
The treadmill exercise machine is at the fore of all exercise equipment, and is the favorite amongst Americans who may want to use it for walking, jogging or running in order to burn off calories, improve their heart rates and blood circulation.
Recently, however, the treadmill exercise machine has found some heavy competition from Elliptical Trainers. In spite of this fierce competition the treadmill exercise machine continues to hold its own and more so, especially in bitter and cold climates.
The main advantages of treadmills is that they are able to incorporate shock absorbing technology in order to make the impact of the running belt easier on the ankles, knees and back joints, and there are also models that claim to reduce this impact by as much as 40 percent when compared to running on sidewalks/outdoors
The electronic monitor on the treadmill exercise machine also helps the user monitor their heart rates, speed, and distance covered, as well as advising them of the calories they have burned and it thus forms an integral and important part of the treadmill exercise machine.
In the more expensive treadmill exercise machine, there may well be functions that keep the runner in sync with their heart rates and thus help them to avoid over or excessive exercising. Along with the standard treadmill exercise machine comes a host of accessories that makes exercising and working out on them more of an enjoyable experience.
Some of things to consider when looking to buy a treadmill exercise machine. One of the most primary considerations being that of the actual stability of the treadmill. After all, the motor should be more powerful if the main objective of the user is to run, instead of walk and this may be more expensive. The treadmill exercise machine should be stable, and sturdy, as well as comfortable. You will want to look for the best features at the lowest price possible.
Some of the more notable treadmill exercise machines are Trimline, Reebok, Landice, and Weslo. Trimline seems to be the most popular of all the options, even though it is typically more expensive although in the end this increased cost would appear to be justified given its enhanced features.

Learning More about Treadmills will save you Money
Good Preparation
Like any equipment on the market, manufacturers will provide differing specifications and features to lure us into buying a more expensive product. Treadmills are no different and if we know a little more about the product and what features we will actually need, our ultimate purchase should be cheaper and provide greater satisfaction
Before embarking on your shopping expedition and letting the salesman coerce you into getting excited about all sorts of treadmills, it is worthwhile considering what you will actually need and what would be nice to have. Ask yourself the following questions:
- Do you intend to use it for walking or jogging?
- What is your budget for the treadmill?
- Are you taller or heavier than average?
- Do you need to monitor heart rate, calories burned, distance walked, incline/speed, time elapsed etc.
- Do you have any space restrictions?
The staff at fitness stores are likely to have more specialized knowledge of treadmills as opposed to general sports stores who tend to be “Jack of all trades” so, you will want to source a suitable outlet.
Motorized Treadmills
If you are opting for a motorized treadmill, the motor is a really important factor to consider. In general, the larger and heavier the motor, the longer it will last but, will cost more money. If you only intend to walk on the treadmill, a smaller motor will suffice; perhaps 1 - 1.5 horse power. If you will me running or walking on the treadmill go for a 2 - 3 horse power model. Try and buy the largest motor you can afford.
Quality and Thickness of the Deck and Track on Treadmills
The deck is going to take some punishment but at the same time, you will want to protect and cushion your ankles, knees and hips. As a general rule of thumb, a 3/4 inch deck will be suitable for walking whereas jogging or running on the treadmill would require a 1 inch deck as a minimum. Of course, a person’ s weight factor will also play a part in your choice of treadmill deck.
You will need to ensure that the track on all the treadmills you look at are sufficiently wide and long enough to accommodate your normal gait whilst running, jogging or walking
Electronics
Normally the additional gadgets and features are the cause for paying more for add-ons you may not need. Ensure the salesman explains what each of these features does and do not easily convince yourself that you cannot do without them.
It is imperative that you try out the various treadmills available in the store; do not be shy about this as you will want to ensure the product is suitable for you. If you know what you need or desire, you will end up with a product that you will use and not end up in a closet collecting dust.
