A Reebok Treadmills Buyer’s Guide

Reebok treadmills are a specific make of treadmills that are manufactured under the prestigious athletic name, Reebok. Reebok manufactures countless types of exercise equipment including exercise machinery, exercise apparel, and exercise accessories, such as sports gear. Reebok is and has been a reputable brand name for exercise paraphernalia for many years, granting it the respect of the athletic community. Because of the implications of this brand name, quality is assured in these Reebok treadmills. These treadmills and other types of exercise equipments are changing the entire way that exercise is done by utilizing innovative technology and great exercise techniques.

Reebok treadmills are actually manufactured by a company called Icon Health, which is an auxiliary company of Reebok. Even though they are not made directly by Reebok, these treadmills still retain the quality assurance that any other Reebok product has to offer. The Reebok Company has a very interesting technique of promoting exercise by adding elements of entertainment to exercises. This technique helps those that are not normally motivated enough to exercise to get on the treadmill and give it a shot.

Some unique models of Reebok treadmills have televisions built right in to the treadmill and speakers with headphone capabilities set up as well. This allows fitness enthusiasts to watch their favorite’s shows while enjoying healthy exercise. This also aids in taking the exhaustion away from exercising because the mind’s attention is diverted. In doing this, the body’s muscles are able to work twice as long simply by virtue of not having to focus directly on the workout all the time.

Any shopper that is in the market for a good treadmill can be certain that a Reebok treadmill can and will provide fantastic quality. Most Reebok treadmills provide numerous features, all of which are devoted to making exercise both easier and fun. Most Reebok treadmills have special auto-manual feature that allows the user to decide whether to have the treadmill move on its own, or depend on the power of the user’s legs while offering resistance.

Not all Reebok treadmills come with auto/manual features or built in televisions. For some people that want to work out, these features are unnecessary. Many people that want to work out only want the bare minimum so that they can focus only on the working out without having to worry about the additional features. For these people, Reebok makes standard treadmills with a no-frills attitude.

Not only are these cheaper, they are also a better choice for those that want a more casual style of working out. For people that can only commit to a few hours a week for working out, a more casual and cheaper treadmill is preferable to the more feature-stocked models that Reebok offers. This way, if working out becomes too time-consuming, it is easier to not stress over the money spent on the treadmill.

No matter how often the treadmill is used or what kind of features that a fitness enthusiast is looking for in a treadmill, Reebok treadmills offer a fantastic array of choices, all of which are great treadmills with satisfaction guaranteed. No matter if a user only wants a casual workout or wants a faster paced exercise schedule, Reebok treadmills cater to each and every one of these needs.

Proform Treadmill Review

Proform treadmills are a type of exercise equipment produced by Icon Health and Fitness, and this brand of treadmill is an excellent investment for consumers on a budget that desire to have a quality piece of exercise equipment in their home. Proform treadmills can range anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to well over $1000. As with most things in life, consumers should be aware that what they pay for is what they get. However, even the cheapest of the Proform treadmills can provide consumers with the exercise experience they are seeking.

Proform treadmills offer many different types of features on their various models, but two of the standard features on all Proform treadmills are adjustable speed and incline. Whether training for a marathon or simply trying to increase individual endurance level, both adjustable speed and incline are important. Either can be adjusted at any time during the workout routine.

When exercising, it is important for individuals to be aware of their target heart rate. Staying within an individual’s target heart rate ensures that the individual is achieving optimal fitness efficiency. A heart rate monitor is included on most Proform treadmill models and an optional chest strap can be purchased. The chest strap can provide more accurate heart rate information and is recommended for those serious about maintaining a target heart rate while exercising.

The ankles, hips, and knees can take a beating when individuals walk, jog, or run on a regular basis. These stresses and strains can cause injury to these joints. Proform treadmills are designed with an air shock system, which reduces the impact and strain placed on these susceptible body parts. The air shock system can be adjusted to meet the individual’s needs and ensure a proper comfort level.

Proform treadmills come with many several standard features, but these treadmills also come with extras that can enhance the individual’s workout. Some models are equipped with 7″ flat screen televisions, which allow individuals to watch their favorite shows while they are working out. Features such as quality sound systems, interactive workout routines, and the ability to plug most electronic music devices into the treadmill are just a few options available to consumers. Most all of the treadmills come with built-in fans to provide cooling during intense workouts.

Belt size and motor size are important because both can affect the comfort level and quality of the workout. Proform treadmills typically have belt sizes ranging from 20″ x 55″ and 20″ x 60″. Motors sizes usually range from 2.25 HP to 3.0 HP. The motor size needed will depend on the consumer’s desired treadmill use.

For those consumers that will occasionally use the treadmill for activities such as walking or light jogging, the less expensive models are ideal. For more serious exercise enthusiasts that anticipate using the treadmill on a daily basis and subjecting the treadmill to harsher use, such as daily running, a more expensive model is recommended. Proform treadmills are durable, affordable, and offer many of the same features as other more expensive treadmills brands.

Working Out With Treadmills

Treadmills are considered the most popular exercise equipment out today. The reasons for this include ease of use, higher calorie burn per hour used compared to other equipment, convenient location indoors in your home without going to your local fitness center, and they create less impact on your body compared with walking or running on hard surfaces. To lose weight or get fit, a treadmill is a great choice to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Treadmills are easy to use because they allows you to move as naturally as you would while walking or running outdoors. They are simple to use, yet come with features like adjustable incline and speed to give you a challenging workout. Since both running and walking come natural to most people, choosing a fitness machine that involves those movements requires very little learning.

Many studies have compared the amount of calories burned through the use of a treadmill, sports exercise, a stair-stepper and a stationary bike, and the conclusion is a treadmill burns more calories than any other exercise equipment. For those who want to pack as much punch into their exercise regimen as they can, a treadmill with a weightloss programme cannot be beat.

Treadmills give you so much convenience. Not only do you avoid the fluctuations in weather conditions, you can get your workout in day or night with no safety worries like uneven sidewalks and traffic conditions. You can wear whatever you want when you use your equipment at home.

For those who are just starting out and may be conscious about their abilities or size, or those who are just plain intimidated by the unfamiliar gym environment, using a treadmill at home can be a great first step at starting a health and fitness program. By using a treadmill at home, they avoid the fitness center spotlight.

Running on concrete, asphalt or dirt puts a tremendous strain on your joints and increases your risk of injuries. But a treadmill provides surfaces that cushion the impact and transfer absorption throughout the length of the deck. This reduces stress on joints, ankles, and knees and minimizes injuries. You get a low impact workout with a high calorie burn when you use a treadmill.

Burning Calories With Home Gym Equipment

Just about everyone has at least heard about the Bowflex home gym through commercials, print ads or infomercials that they have been running for years. The advertising of the Bowflex includes some impressive claims about how this machine can help you get into great shape quickly.

However, the question most people have after they see an infomercial about the home gym fitness equipment is, can it really deliver the kind of results by using it for only twenty minutes a day and only three times a week?

bowflex home gym
If you have ever caught one of the Bowflex home gyms television advertisements, then you have seen some pretty incredible looking pecs and abs which are attributed to the machine. Is it all hype or is there some validity to the claims about what this at strength equipment wonder machine can do?

Rubbing shoulders with others who are committed to fitness is one of the reasons that many people like to go into the local gym on a regular basis. This helps to keep them motivated. But, many others prefer to be able to work out at home and the Bowflex home gym is a piece of equipment that can provide a number of great workouts.

There are those who are experienced in health and fitness issues. These people use traditional commercial fitness equipment which are found in gyms around the country. The results have almost unanimously been that Bowflex home gyms are a viable alternative to the bulky and costly commercial exercise equipment found in professional settings.

The design that is at the heart of the Bowflex home gym very closely simulates the kind of range of motions that you are able to achieve through the use of free weights. However, instead of relying on the force of gravity against the plates of the weight equipment, the Bowflex employs a system of resistance that is produced by utilizing a cable and pulley structure.

strength equipment
The cable and pulley arrangement is attached to resistance rods which act like very strong springs that have potential energy stored up. This is what provides the resistance that is so important to a good workout, building muscle strength and tone.

Fitness experts say that it is quite an ingenious design because it allows you to position your body for the exercises without having to worry about the angle needed for gravity, as you must be aware of when using free weight equipment.

This in turn allows the Bowflex home gym to be more compact in the overall use of space because you are able to do a bench press while you are in a seated position. Normally, you would need to be spread out on a bench in order to do such an exercise using free weights. This way, you can workout in a more restricted space if needed.

The unique use of the resistance rods in the Bowflex home gym also means that the weight of this piece of portable fitness equipment is much less than with other kinds of home gym equipment. Most other home gyms rely on some kind of weights, making them heavy and expensive to ship and very difficult to move. Bowflex home gyms are considerably easier to move either to a different room or a completely different location if needed.

portable fitness equipment
Another popular feature of the Bowflex home gym is that you can change the level of resistance almost on-the-fly. You do not have to get up from your workout position and handle awkward plates as you need to do with free weight equipment.

This feature is a wonderful time-saver and allows you to very rapidly move through a set of different exercises. In addition, you can easily move into some of the more advanced techniques. Overall, according to those who actually use it, the Bowflex home gym seems to be a good option for your home fitness center.

Fitness Over 40 Is Important For Optimum Health

Senior fitness seems almost impossible for some people. In fact, it would seem that the deck is stacked against us.

Back when you were a teenager or young adults, losing weight probably seemed easy. Or, at least it was easier than a few years down the road. There’s a lot of science to back up the fact that it is harder to lose weight with age. It’s not just your imagination.

First of all, metabolism slows with each passing year. That means you can’t burn off, or use up, as many calories as when you were younger. By eating the exact same number of calories and keeping all other factors equal, you will gain weight due to this decrease.

Another big hit is that muscle mass starts to deteriorate with age. Muscle plays a large role in metabolism levels so the two go hand in hand. If you don’t do something to maintain or even build muscle, you will get fatter and weaker.

By allowing yourself to become weak, you set yourself up for broken bones and other accidents that could lead to a loss of independence at some point. This is seen all too often with older adults.

The solution is to take action now, whatever your age. Once you get the all clear from your doctor, get busy with an exercise program. Whether you choose home workouts or decide to join a gym, every effort you make will play a big role in having a healthy and full life enjoyed on your own terms.

Although it may seem strange and confusing at first, senior fitness isn’t difficult provided you go about it the right way. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on a good health and fitness program designed for adults, rather than bodybuilders or kids. Specialized programs will help you set realistic goals designed for the shape you’re in now as well as where you want to be.
